At XMERALDA, we take pride in our commitment to quality. For over a decade, we have partnered with small, family-owned gem cutters and metal dealers, treating them as part of our own family. Together, we source only the finest materials for our handcrafted jewellery, crafted with care in our Manchester studio. All of our materials are hypoallergenic for your comfort.

Sterling Silver: Our sterling silver jewellery is made with 92.5% pure silver.

Gold Vermeil: Our gold vermeil jewellery is created by layering gold, with a minimum thickness of 2 microns, over sterling silver. This process results in jewellery that is five times thicker and more durable than average gold plating. (Note: Gold vermeil is pronounced "ver-may.")

Natural Gemstones: Our gemstones are sourced from Brazil and are hand-cut by master artisans. We work closely with our suppliers to handpick every stone that goes into our jewellery, season after season.

Wearing Your Jewellery: To keep your jewellery looking its best, avoid spraying perfumes or applying liquids directly onto it.

Cleaning Your Jewellery: For sterling silver jewellery, use a silver polishing cloth or tarnish removal products, then dry thoroughly. Vermeil and overlay jewellery can be gently cleaned with a cotton ball or soft cloth. If a more extensive cleaning is needed, use warm water and mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Avoid hot water and harsh chemicals when cleaning gemstones, and instead clean them with a clean, soft, damp cloth.

Storing Your Jewellery: For optimal storage, keep your jewellery in a dry area away from moisture. When not in use, gently wipe your pieces with a cloth and store in a zip lock bag or pouch to prevent scratches. Including a silica packet inside the bag will prevent tarnishing during storage.
